Solomon Breibart (1914-2009), was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and taught social studies at the High School of Charleston and Rivers High School. After retiring from teaching in 1976, Breibart began research on Penina Moïse and other topics relating to Charleston's Jewish history, particularly Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE).
